Hellsing was a great animation put into a poor story... they have a really good manga that they felt the need to compress into just 13 episodes which was impossible... so there you have it... the characters are great I hope they make a bigger second season but the story is shit...
In the manga, for instance, the girl isn't soooo childish as it is displayed in the anime, she is a lot eager to drink human blood and be mean and run amok... in the anime she seems to have lived with Madre Teresa de Calcuta...
