Except knives and swords get structurally fractured and "used" as battle goes on - they can last longer then ammunition, but no sword or knife will last a protracted battle with BETA.
You can always whack something with the gun. Its several dozen kilograms (if not tones) of metal hurled by a mecha. Or carry bayonet attachments, since its implied that 120mm gun in actually a module.
