My expectations for the fight immediately dropped the moment they discarded the Universal Booster, the rifle, and the beam sabers. Which made no sense to me, since they immediately took out SA's katana, which meant that beam weapons would have been back into play.
And yes, Sengoku Astray should have won the moment both Gunpla lost their arms, because SA has had an extra pair.
