From the translation, there does seem to be some kind of damage if a familiar is killed:

Glad to see I'm not way off base.
I was rewatching the series and I wondered how strong Fate really is, we never really do see Fate go up against a really worthy opponent. All her matches with Signum were cut short or left to our imagination. Sometimes I do feel like its a cop out much as I loved the Signum vs. Nanoha special I've always wanted to see how a Signum vs. Fate match would go.
