How sure are we that the Night Sky was created specifically for the purpose of sealing UD, and not just used for that purpose because it was the best tool at hand?

In my mind the story goes like this: An unknown person created the Night Sky as an ultimate repository for magical information. A useful tool designed for study and education.

Then someone encounters/creates Unbreakable Darkness, and wants to use it as a weapon, but cannot control it. They obtain the Night Sky, and attempt to use the Night Sky to chain and control UD. It fails, and the Night Sky becomes the Book of Darkness.
