That is a the question. If Gonzo holds the rights to it, no other studio can make a new series. If Production I.G. or Bones took it over, we'd have a shot at a really great series. But there are more remakes lately (
Yozakura Quartet ~Hoshi no Umi~ just announced recently) so you never know.
