I like it, although I'd rather think that Issa married the widowed Akasha (as you said, Moka's and Kokoa's father was killed by Issa and FT). Normally, Moka and Kokoa would keep their father's name Akashiya in this instance. Name changes for their own convenience would be a bit of a hassle I imagine.

Only one thing doesn't make sense to me though. What's Khalua's place in all of this? She appears to have been raised by Akasha as well and she gets into a fight with Akuha later, it seems. I wonder what her family is. She doesn't seem to know Akuha, which leads me to think that she wasn't Issa's child, and there would be no need to send in Akuha if Akasha wasn't raising Moka and Kokoa according to the Shuzen's ideals as they already have one of theirs in her family if Khalua was Issa's child.

That's basically what i meant. He married Akasha in order to adopt Moka. Akasha herself could've been very powerful which for a proud race would be very important. Guess i didn't make that clear. Kokoa is a Shuuzen though. So I don't think they share the same parents.

If Akasha is a powerful vampire than the Shuuzen children were probably placed under her care in order for her to train them. Akuha was probably already well trained before Akasha came in which was why she wasn't part of the group. And she was kept quiet about by everyone else in the family. The other were younger and not as well trained though. Akuha was probably only sent because they got word that Akasha wasn't teaching them to hate humans.
