Though what does any of what was mentioned in that article have to do with star driver besides the setting? Star drivers problem wasn't that it took place on an island it was that almost every plotline it tried to start never went anywhere and that there was next to no continuity between episodes despite it ostensibly being a serial and not episodic.

I'll see this through just due to my love of the original series but nothing is striking me with confidence or even hope that the writers know what they're doing.
When I refer to Star Driver I mean all the action taking place in an isolated environment. From what we saw in the first chapter it seems to be going the route of monster-of-the-week just like Star Driver. The idea of an outside force ruining this isolated paradise only got re-inforced by that Iran comment. It doesn't take a genius to know who is Iran in the manga and who is the US and which side is portrayed as good and which as bad.
