In Asa's case, I think she looks better with short hair. Having gone through the series seeing her that way, I guess you cold say I got use to it.
I at least don't like how the hair style was when it was long. Maybe a change of style would change my mind.
I liked her playfullness, the way she was a beacon of support for Rin and his friends, and finally, her mom was too cute for words.
