With the Titans focused on Eren who was carrying the boulder the elite squads had a clear line of sight to the Titan's napes. They could easily do what Mikasa and Levi did and just grapple onto them from behind and sliced them. Why did they even got down there to attract their attention?  What Mitabi's squad did they could've easily have taken out 2-3 of the Titans right there.
To me it seemed unnecessary.
And this episode seemed to be a mess. One second Jean is about to be eaten and then we get a still of Annie for like a few seconds and so forth. That or my computer was messed up. |
Maybe because the titans were moving, that could be hard since they great size makes them relatively fast.
Also, the episode had serious QUALITY issues that bother me so much (the Titan/Annie moment and the purple bricks were the most noticeable), but that had a great OST, nice action and finally the "Rock arc" is done. That is tense how even after a heavy battle they don't get a rest, worse, they have to pick up they comrades corpses.
