Wasn't it Silvance that mentioned that Japan, because it surrendered unconditionally, was allowed to RETAIN all the territories that were part of the Greater-East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere? Wasn't the Philippines lumped in with that, or did the US take back the right to the country?
