I don't think that Maria is a witch.(After all, she's still just nine :P). But I think that somewhere in the animé Maria will get closer to the title of "witch", but never fully become a witch (But that's just my theory ^.^) And I also think that Beatrice was mirrored there, or just putted the rose on the wrong side :P
