Mist Gun saving her does not make any sense.
Someone's body had to be broken down in order to absorb the Aetherium. Erza did not break down, so the logical explanation was that Gerard took her place at the last moment. Then Natsu simply brought her back.
Where does Mist Gun fit into this? If he had saved her, would his body be disintegrated by now?
