There are a lot of "What Ifs", and no one's blind guess trumps another's. All will be revealed in a couple of weeks — so there's nothing for us to argue or debate or get our collective panties in a bunch over. When all is said and done, speculation is just farting in a wind tunnel, folks! (With that being said, you still didn't answer the question of where Yamamoto got her female flightsuit from in Episode 4...)

Even if they got a captured Gamilas fighter and flightsuit, it's pretty convenient that the flightsuit fits Shinohara like a glove... Making a flight suit from scratch makes more sense. And they would need the fighter for some time to be able to train a pilot to fly it — it's already been established that the Earth has used captured Gamilas tech before the first episode. Oh, and where does the Yamato get their resources along the journey to Iscandar? Other planets, like Beemera.
