That's not what I was talking about, that's pretty obvious; but more precisely, and respectfully, how did Yamamoto take the initiative to steal the Cosmo Zero, and suddenly have a perfectly form-fitting and tailored flight suit? That's the question.

My guess is they find either an old base on satelite where Sanada and Kodai go to get the Warp Gate working, or maybe Beeland has a Gamilas Base (or even prison) on it. The suit Shinohara has looks like the old style flight suit from the original series. It might even be old verses Melda's newer style suit with retractible bits in the helmet.

While they might be able to build the fighter (like building the seemless fighter in the original), it would seem more interesting to capture one. We know they can craft things, since they keep fixing the ship and add parts to it. Though we've not seen them replace a fighter or support craft yet. They are down a few Cosmo Falcons and a Cosmo Seagull.

While building or not building a Gamilas fighter is neither here nor there, they had to train someone to fly it, first. That takes time. As for the Cosmo Falcons, only two have been destroyed as of Episode 14 (with four replacements unassembled). All will be revealed in a few weeks when the theater-exclusive Blu-rays go on sale. In the meantime, this bickering is pointless. Just don't discount that the Yamato crew would've studied Melda's fighter — and taken complete records of all of her equipment, including her flightsuit and personal weapons (if any). And did the onboard computer on Melda's ship have anything — or was it wiped before making contact? Only time will tell...
