Hello, and man you are very lucky I stopped by AS forums to find a solution to my problem.
This issue occurs because you need 64bit directshow filters in order to view generate thumbnails under a 64bit environment. You must first uninstall CCCP, then install K-Lite [FULL ver] Codec pack followed by the 64bit pack addon.
This solves the problem. I've been using K-Lite for a while now and find it just as easy to use as CCCP except with access to more expert type options.
