The first episode does feel a bit 'average' so to speak. Nothing really exciting took place, even by the standards of the cliches the first episode used. But I feel that was part of its charm in that 'normal, but gentle' atmosphere. Really, even live-action nowadays tend to be more flamboyant and pronounced than the kind of atmosphere Amagami has, for good and bad.

Spoiler for Junichi:

Nothing good, nothing bad either going in, but episode 1 was really nothing more than an introductory episode so it's too early to say anything.

Spoiler for Junichi: I do hope Junichi is going to stop moping about him getting stood-up during Christmas stuff. Or at least reduce the SEED-mode galaxy level of dreamy angst. I guess I am too used to seeing these kind of past angst being extremely dramatic kind of events, seeing one of this magnitude feels a little weird.
