Don't know how the Hades Chapter OVA preformed, but I know that the Lost Canvas OVAs did not do well, which is why TMS has no plan for season 3.
When Omega started, the popularity of the Saint Seiya franchise was down once again. The second life that the Lost Canvas manga gave had already ran out, as I said the LC OVA under-performed, the LC gaiden was struggling, and NC and EpG were on hiatus.
The only reason why Toei made Omega is because it was cheap, it has a large fanbase globally, and Toei apparently loves to celebrate anniversaries, just look at the Kamen Rider franchise.
