Exactly, while this episode was one of the most eventful, the characters remain so one dimensional.
Spoiler for Episode 19:
I would have given 10/10 if Ayase actually gave herself the virus. That doesn't prevent Shu from his obligatory motivational speech that magically solves all problems so he's still useful.
But this was a bit too predictable in the boring direction
But more importantly, he totally ignored his chance to fondle Ayase when he touched her for the nth time.
(okay i don't know where this came from. Everytime he pulls someone's void, i imagine the vessel's voice saying:
Oh yes Shu! Please touch me there.")
