Have we discussed about Arca's death yet? From how it happened you can tell Imai intended it be shocking, not sad, and he managed. Arca's death caught me completely by surprise because of how sudden it was, and it reminded me that these kind of things happen in real life. You know, those seconds where suddenly everything around you turns hell when just a few moments ago you were all joyful. It can be applied to the developments that took place in this chapter.
I didn't feel any sadness because as I've said, the author didn't intend it to be that way. Yet the shock was quite big. The only parent the main character had died before his eyes in a horrible way: burnt to a crisp.
