Well, I would have preffered an actual battle with Magellan, but a significant story arc character potentially dying is a nice runner-up prize...for now.
Here's hoping that Magellan still follows them to Marineford, though. A Magellan v. Luffy battle has been hinted for for 30 some chapters, so it seems a little silly if Magellan's story ends here.
