Yeah, I think Syn's review is spot on.... the only difference is that, in my analysis, I focused more on each person's career and life goal aspirations. In Japan, those really DO deeply affect any choices made in romance. One reason I like anime is that many things are often left implicit (unlike most prime time western drama where everything gets a large explicit THIS IS WHAT IS GOING ON sign).
Syn's post had me grinning a bit because I can visualize some otaku imploding. Good stuff, some great analysis.
