According to the Director of Fruits Basket, there is no second season planned. Fruits Basket is a very subtle series. Takaya Natsuki (the mangaka) has put stuff in the beginning of the manga that is just now (13 volumes later) starting to be of consequence. Alot of really important stuff was left out of the original series, and I don't think they could do justice to a second season because of the things that were left out. Much as I love the series, I think a second season would not live up to expectations.
