Kanade and Konoe kissed to pretend they're going out (well, Kanade forced herself on Konoe without warning). Kanade was planning to see what would Jirou do if she tries to take Konoe away from him, but she didn't know Jirou was already rejected by Konoe a month earlier.

And as of what happened to Usami and Jirou in final chapter of Vol9 (and contains Vol8 spoilers):

Jirou asked what is Konoe hiding from him, but Konoe said she can't tell him no matter what. Jirou realised he isn't much better since he didn't tell Konoe of the conversation Usami and Kanade had earlier that day (the reason why Kanade ran out from their double date); and they're not much of a 'best friend' to each other if they keep secrets like this.

Jirou told Konoe they should stop being 'best friends' for the time being; because he thought they shouldn't stay together if all he does is hurt her. Konoe misunderstood it to mean Jirou is abandoning her because she's keeping secrets, and cried that she still wanted be with Jirou even if she can't be his girlfriend (see Vol8 - it suggests Konoe turned Jirou down because she knew Kanade liked Jirou as well and wanted her Ojou-sama to be happy, instead of Kanade sacrificing herself for Konoe). Jirou didn't know the reasons why Konoe turned him down, and hardened his heart to walk away, not responding to Konoe's tears as she chased behind him.

After the two of them got back to where Jirou is currently staying they found Usami is waiting for Jirou. Usami confessed to Jirou, saying she realised she wants to be with him and have him be a part of her family, that way she won't be alone again. Usami kissed Jirou (he didn't know this was coming) in front of Konoe, and the Volume ended here.
