As for the game, the whole grade thing was interesting, I think it adds a bit of depth to it, but the luck issues are still there. Again we had Aichi getting a drive trigger near the end of a match and it's becoming a bit too common, in particular since we're still on the third episode. All the explanations about it also made me wonder how are rules for summoning monsters, and I'm unsure if the show went through these already or if we're still on the dark, because if the latter, then I must say I wish they'd talk about it. Having characters drop monsters left and right on the field without even knowing how it works made it quite overwhelming.

Spoiler for episode 3:
Agreed on some of the rather... interesting writing. I had the same idea about private lessons, his niece's response to his offer and "ride Marron."(incidentally, it seems like Aichi's deck has quite a few female cards) I have a feeling that tournaments with an older crowd in real life would actually turn out to be quite hilarious.
As for the rules for summoning, you can basically summon any number of units as long as their grade is equal to or lower than that of your vanguard. So if you had a hand full of level 3's and your vanguard was level 3, you could play any number of them instantly. I think they explained it *very* briefly in the first episode.
