And I didn't say that I would do the same thing, nor that I think its right. I can simply understand how she came to make the choices that she has, and how she has justified it. Azanael is clearly still suffering with and trying to deal with a huge amount of grief and loss. And dealing with these kinds of overwhelming emotions can make a person do things that are not rational to an impartial observer. I don't think that makes her selfish though. I think that just makes her, bizarrely, human for want of a better term. You know what I'm trying to get at, at any rate

Why do people categorise ugly actions as being human? It isn't human, it is fuelled by the dark animal sides of our nature. What makes us human is the ability to commit actions of compassion and kindness and to recognise them. It is easy to commit acts of anger or jealousy, but being human is the ability to grow beyond that.
