Spoiler for flower symbolism in EVOL:
Last week he used a rose to jump start Kagura's memories and this time he used a poppy flower to transport Jin's device to where Yunoha will find it. Before that in a previous episode he was holding what I remembered was a white lily while taking about how if people admired just one flower there would be no need for a garden.
The rose is associated with love and passion, and Kagura is definitely very passionate about getting his wench. As for the poppy flower, poppies symbolize sleep and death, so that raises a warning flag about what's going to happen to Jin and Yunoha in the next episode. Interestingly poppies can also symbolize the promise of rebirth after death, so maybe that might hint at Jin pulling a heel-face-turn? As for the lily, I think it might be refering to Alicia and how Altairians warship her so much. Lilies, especially those that are white, are also associated with purity and the Virgin Mary and Alicia is revered almost like a religious idol on Altair because she was the only female to come across the dimensional gate intact.

OH GOD. It's Zen's card symbolism vs Mykage's flower symbolism. FIGHT.
Spoiler for hahah flower symbolism:
Yes, red rose is the flower of romance so to speak. It's the one associated by romantic love (in your face, Zen).
Poppies have these meanings associated with them. But that's in the west... In hana no kotoba, it's fun-loving/lightheartedness... so you know... White lilies meaning are "sweet." Something that has been associated with Mikono.
