loved this episode. Seriously, I don't see how you can not like it. Season 2 had 25 gengashi (key animator? I don't know the term in english) for the OP alone (and season one already had ridiculous 22 people). For comparison, Hyouka's OP also had 25.
And the secondary gengashi for this episode also had retarded amount (something like 20 again) compared to season 1's like 4 or so. They really dumped a ton of money for this episode. Almost none stop fighting, special effects everywhere.
I'm not saying the number automatically = quality, obviously it depends on the animator's skill and how much they can push out per person, but it's still one method to see the budget for the episode.
Comparing this episode to other episode 1s of the summer season is totally not fair, because they literally dumped you right in the middle of a mini-climax fight, this is seriously one of the best first episodes of the season for me. Sunrise, you are most definitely will be my favorite studio for a longgg time.
