It's been thought of many times that Beatrice = writer and Battler = reader. So if Kinzo = Battler, then Kinzo = reader! When Kinzo was still young, he was a fan of a popular murder mystery novel. It was written by someone with the pseudonym "Beatrice". Then, after a long time of thinking, he believed that he finally solved the mystery! But the author stopped writing, which made him upset. He tried to get Beatrice to start writing again, but nothing happened.

So years later he adopted a girl and forced her to rewrite the same mystery novel. She was shut inside Kuwadorian her whole life, forced to write it until it was perfect. Eventually she was killed in an accident, and the novel was not finished. By that time Kinzo was becoming insane, and would do anything to bring back "Beatrice". So he decided to recreate the novel he was a fan of in real life -- by staging a huge murder mystery act! And if he died before then, it was written in his will that it would be carried out by the servants! It really was just a farce after all!
