What happened to front loading first episodes with budget?

Ah well...Faithful adapt, but considering just how faithful it was and the quality of the "animation" (Mmm stills~) I mostly came away from the first episode feeling like I really should just go replay the game again.

Guess I'll keep an eye out on the synopses see if continues down the road of mediocrity or not...
