That part with the genin beating Kushina up was filler, right? I felt that wasn't needed and over the top. Really, sending your big brother to beat up a girl? Check your man card at the door.
There isn't much of a difference between Sakura and Kushina. Both fell in love with good looking cool guys early in their life. Kushina was just lucky hers wasn't a complete jerk and emotionally damaged.
