I never played CK1 so I couldn't tell you. I imagine it wouldn't be too different, just more refined. Saying that though CK2 can be a bit hard to get into, best to start off as one of the Irish dukes or something and aim for making Kingdom of Ireland, then invade Scottland and England. Bring France, Spain or the HRE. Good times.
