...Despite his best efforts though. Not like he had much choice if he wishes to keep at least some semblance of his previous lifestyle. But who knows what his current role in the mafia is at this point. I'd guess calling him a "mercenary of love"( for the abducted loved one) would probably be close. He's not doing this for the mafia, and he's not getting paid for it either, so what could be the closest thing to say on that?
