I was amused when I read this:

At least we gaijin viewers aren't alone in thinking that the anime could've been better. Then again, it might have entirely been a statement about contemporary anime in general.

I think the reason why the anime chooses to depict Faldio shooting Alicia on the back is to make the scene more personal... You know, so he could be the gentleman in carrying her over to the cot.

Spoiler for episode 21:

So who catches Alicia in the end? I see a gloved hand, and I don't remember Faldio being dressed like that judging from the screenshots.

I doubt it's Welkin's. I mean, is he even in this episode?
