The end was indeed GONZO, wasn't it
Spoiler for last episode:
...When the episode first started, I wondered if I was watching another anime...
Well, if there was one thing the episode did good on, it was the animation. The previous episode was a completely joke, after all...
But overall, this anime never recovered from the drop last episode. Putting aside the pairing and romance, which felt like they were trying to do everything at the last moment, the overall story was... (-_-). We get an amazing fight between Jil and Neeba (who could use Druaga's powers for some reason), and then he just dies so easily after Jil gets a cheat boost because he took off his armor. Pretty far from a hot end to a hot battle, huh... Well, Neeba's goals and everything proved to be so dull anyways, so I guess it fits.
And then the epilogue. Well, this was actually well done, with Melt back to his old moneymaking and the wedding, but then we get Gil who just ended up alive for some reason... (O_O) and Uragon wasn't even shown... What the... And they were still trying to force a Fatima x Utuu end. What is Gonzo trying to do in the last episode? Find a way to satisfy all of Fatima's fans?
And all in all, we end with a shot of Jil and Kaaya holding hands. Good for you.
The last few episodes really drained my enthusiasm in this anime, so can't really say the damage of the final pairing was that big...
Well, regardless, it's obvious that Fatima is the better woman, right? Raise your hands, people!
