That's simply not a fair criticism to make of Sayaka after the events of Episode 12.
Episode 12 proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that her wish was not rooted in selfish desire at all, as she chose to make the sacrifice anew, even with the realization that Kamijou would end up with Hitomi instead.
As much as I dislike how Gen chose to end Sayaka's personal story, it nonetheless presents her wish in a much more selfless light. The
least Sayaka deserves is positive recognition for that, in my opinion.
