Itsuki told Kyon that there's alot going on behind the scenes. All these organisations, a whole bunch of them not just the Data Entities, time travellers and espers are interested in Haruhi. The organisations know of most of each other's existance, they have been fighting each other in various ways to get close to Haruhi.
