Oh I totally understand where you're coming from.
I find it harder and harder to find stuff that appeals to me as I get older; a lot of stuff is totally not my thing, especially the ecchi and moeblobs stuff that comes out all the time. But I know it sells so it's not like anyone is pointing a gun at me to watch it. And sometimes the moemoekyun stuff does turn out entertaining like K-ON and Tamako Market.
But there is more mature series out there though if you look hard enough; Psycho Pass is a prime example.
