Well, it depends of the person: some people need a lot of time to think of a plot, the characters, etc. while some other can do it much faster. I guess Kou Maisaka belongs to the latter. As previously mentionned, he is used to having 3 series ongoing at the same time (for example, he already had 2 other series running when he started writing Ochitekita Naga to Horobiyuku Majo no Kuni).
Although writing 3 series at once is still not a lot compared to some of the most prolific writers in the industry like Akira (日日日) or Ichirou Sakaki (榊一郎) who can handle writing 5+ different series at the same time.
