The story of planetarian isn't really interesting enough IMO since it'll mostly be about two "beings" living inside a planetarium. The part where the animation could really show off is secondary to the story. Also, you have to ask yourself: did the ending make you cry or Reverie's projection?
Alas, IMO, planetarian deserves a one hour OAV at most.
Anyway, I'm very excited about the new Kanon production and I guess the good animation will be another reason for me to finally buy the DVDs. The first version is IMO one of the best anime out there, which is second to AIR only because of the animation. Story-wise, well... it's Key's tale. ^^;
