Full leather boots are no longer available now. It is just the lightweight ones that suck in anything that is liquid, ranging from mud/sea-water to that odd cleaning ammonia from spillages.
And that is bad news for your legs; you have increased chances of fungal infection or burns. And that doesn't help when you are wearing those things for 2 weeks at a time.
I am sticking to my good ol' full-leather boots regardless of how much heavier they are that the gortex lightweight boots they sell.
P.S Also that demonstrates the power of heated Kiwi on your boots. That is my combat boots; my parade boots are still in good condition other than the dust it accumulated sitting in my storeroom.
