Fate and Nanoha sparred in the A's movie using bamboo swords. Honestly, they've been trying their hardest to retcon Nanoha being terrible at sports. If this was the series, Nanoha would stand no chance against Fate in non-magical sparring. Though I guess Fate was doing all of the tricky maneuvers while Nanoha was mostly just defending.
