Well, in contrast, she have had a lot of focus in episode 1-10 while characters such as Shirley and C.C. had a lot less, so this might make it even. I personally think it's a bit cheap to "get a character temporarily out of the way" this way (if that's that they intend), but still...
Still, if they go the mindaltering route, it will most likely be done as a way to mess with Lulu - I can't see any other reason for them to sacrifie her character and character development thus far, at least.
