It's not the multiple artists that's the problem, it's the multiple publishers. ADV bragged in their press release how they managed to negotiate both Air TV and the movie from Kyoto Animation and Toei respectively.

Both Kadokawa and SquareEnix own different parts, although SquareEnix owns all of the main series so far (and Yoigoshi-hen), so it may be easier for the licensor to just skip Onisarashi-hen and Utsutsukowashi-hen.

EDIT: And just to give you a bit of hope, New York Anime Festival starts tomorrow, and all of the major manga publishers have panels.
