At leas in Baltic myths, whenever we talk of goddesses or demi-goddesses the virginity did play important role (unless the goddess is a legal god wife etc.), if one losses the virginity she usually lost her powers as well (well it is usually about demi-goddesses , but again Nagi is like that as well).
Now i am interested to see the next chapter (though I don't think this trick will work for authors favor, as I do believe some otakus will drop buying it just because of this). Though I don't really care, plus it adds more depth to the story I guess. i just hope the author explains it properly.
