However, we're still faced with the fact that by the end of Alicization, Kirito would've been separated from Asuna for at least 3 years if not more... Their situation's essentially the ultimate long distance relationship, where no communication is permitted what so ever...
When/if Kirito get out of UW or if Asuna goes in, can Kirito see Asuna the same way again??? it's an interesting question because although his mental maturity etc has changed, Asuna will be exactly the same as who he remembers her to be... In the end, I think he'll still love her, just not necessarily in the same way
