Regardless, its not like this was the first time we know about Touma's bad luck which btwnever seem to affect his combat luck before.

Plus all these luck explanations has always seem dodgy to me...

Managed to get a hold of a few spoilers that I believe some will be interested in.

Spoiler for spoilers:

1. In the late stages of the story, there was a fight between Maria (the maid girl) and Marian (the "dwarf" girl). The two were somewhat even at first, but things turned pretty much one-sided after Marian brought out Dainsleif.

2. At one point, Dainsleif's powers of inducing suicide started to affect even the public that was watching the fight. Marian was forced to put a barrier around the ring in order to prevent a killing spree from occurring in the stadium.

3. That cool pic of Touma actually shows him breaking Marian's barrier to join the fight. Incidentally, he managed to completely seal away Dainsleif's suicide-inducing powers just by being there - without even doing anything special (it seems that the reasoning behind it was that everyone's minds were protected by the simple knowledge that something that could possibly oppose that magic sword existed).

By the way, this volume's pics somewhat remind me of volume 15.

See? Always a catch... But doesn't this means that Touma saved Maria ?
