Under the current system, they're just looking to siphon more money out of you if you're working or running a small business. Then they use a tiny little bit of their ill gotten gains (but not enough so they can still afford a new mansion as well as importing 50 all-but-in-name wage slaves to labor under them) and give it to those on welfare and truly need help. And then tell you that those recipents are the core of your problems and stole all your money. All while pocketing your cash in their back pocket while lying to you that you could be like them if only you had more willpower, like in a shounen anime.

Oh, and most of it is masked behind going to war, to make you feel that it's doing something. It's doing something, alright.
