esp when he leaves Orochimaru (which is sure to happen) that's going to add a lot to his character. He already gained bonus points in my favor by saying "I'll get power my own way."

Itachi is my favourite because I have a fetish for stoic evil villains.

But yeah, if it was vs anyone else, Sasuke would get my vote not because his development is much tougher (he's still getting it easy in my opinion) but because of that spoiler;

He chose his own path of vengeance and did not follow Itachi with the kill-best-friend in order to get the Mangekyou Sharingan. Through his own angsting and love for revenge, he still chose a path different from Itachi in acquiring power.

He gets points for turning somewhat evil too! :33
