I sure hope it's true. All I can think of is that AT-X/Studio Deen is waiting for the sufficient amount of Manga materials (stories/chapters) before releasing the (3rd season) Anime, otherwise we get stuck with another 2yr+ wait for the next season...
Just my guess though...
